Better late than never…right?  Well here are some things I have been enjoying over the past month (more like two months).  I also threw in a little bulldog cuteness so that you can see just what it’s like to get anything done when there is a bulldog or sometimes even two “helping.”  Enjoy!

Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation – I am loving this in spite of it’s ridiculously long name.  This is the first drugstore foundation I have found that I have not hated and that actually has worked for my oily skin.  I will eventually do a full review of this but for now I can honestly say that this applies easily, wears well, and has a really natural finish while still provided a decent amount of coverage.  For those of you in the United States or other places where Max Factor is not available, this is the same product as the Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation.

Maybelline Baby Lips Peach Kiss Lip Balm – These suckers finally landed in Germany!  I for one am thankful because they are great to throw in your bag or pocket.  Not only is it moisturizing, but it also contains SPF 20 and provides a hint of color.  I am kicking myself for not picking them up when I was in the States last time.  However, I will be trying more of these.

Maybelline Dream Touch Blush in 07 Plum – I have been wanting to give these a try for ages and have had them in my hands numerous times while shopping but always decided to put them back.  Now I am wondering what I was thinking because this is such a lovely blush.  It gives a nice pop of color with a little shimmer.  This is the first cream blush I’ve tried and now I’m on the hunt for more.  Sadly, I don’t believe that these are available in the U.S. any longer.

L’Oréal Color Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in 004 Forever Pink – This caught my eye since it was included in a special display in one of my local Müller stores back in the summer, yep I’m a sucker.  I think this would suit just about anyone and I feel like it would be a good color to start with if you’re interested in trying the Color Infallible shadows.  It’s great as an inner corner highlight but I especially like to apply to the inner two-thirds of my eyelids with a darker matte color on the outer part and in the crease.

The Balm Down Boy Blush – First off, I have to give a little shout out and an even bigger thanks to Jessica (a.k.a. Product Hoochie), for helping me to purchase my very first products from The Balm.  Down Boy is a nice classic girly pink, in my opinion.  I like to apply this with a light hand as it is quite pigmented.  I really need to try out more of The Balms blushes.

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter – I know I’m late to the game on this, but after hearing so many people rave about this I had to give it a try.  It is such a beautiful champagne colored highlight.  While it does work great as a highlighter on the cheek bones, brown bone and inner corners of the eye, I also like to apply it all over my eyelids for a quick fix to brighten up my eyes on lazy days.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils in Zero & Demolition – Another little goodie from the lovely Product Hoochie who was kind enough to send me these two mini’s since she knew I had been on the hunt for an eyeliner that not only stayed put but also did not irritate my crazy sensitive eyes.  Well lo and behold these really did live up to all the hype and ticked both boxes for me.  I will no longer waste another dime on any other eyeliners and will most definitely be investing in more of these in the future.

Garnier Fructis Schöne Haut Öl (Beautiful Skin Oil) – I picked this up when I stumbled upon it after hearing Estée from Essie Button talk about it.  First off I’m not in love with the scent due to the fact that is has a subtle hint of rose, but don’t let that put you because it is by no means offensive or overpowering in the least and doesn’t hang around forever.  However, I can get past my aversion to rose/floral fragrance because this is truly a great body oil that really seems to moisturize your skin and give it a nice healthy glow.  You also can’t beat the easy on your wallet price tag.  The past few years I really find that I have quite liked Garnier’s body moisturizers.   This is definitely available in the UK but sadly it is not available in the United States.  I’ve also spied a new anti-aging version on the German site so I will be on the hunt for it.

Garnier Fructis Wunder Öl (for hair) – This is the best-selling hair oil in Europe supposedly and I can see why.  It really does leave your hair looking shiny, smelling great and feeling soft and silky while also providing heat protection.  I know there are a lot of other hair oils on the market but this one gives the most bang for your buck in my opinion.  On a side note, I checked the US site and I don’t believe that this exact product is available there unfortunately but I imagine that the Triple Nutrition Miracle Dry Oil might be pretty close and the good thing is that it can be used on your hair as well as your skin.

Thomas Sabo Charm Club – This was a gift from my incredibly sweet friend Angy and I absolutely adore everything about it.  There are a variety of different bracelets to choose from and then you can customize it by adding charms from their huge collection.  Since she knows I am a crazy dog mom she picked the most perfect pairing for me.  Love my little bullies and my thoughtful friend!

I’m trying to get back into the swing of things where my poor neglected blog is concerned.  I just got a box of Zoya products that I had ordered so I’m hoping to get some more nail polish reviews up soon.  Hopefully you and yours are enjoying the fall and all the fun that comes with it.  As always, thanks for reading!

Labello…Sensitive & Irritated Lips Super Hero

Rating System:  Poor, Okay, Average, Good, Excellent

Brand:  Labello

Product Name:  Kamille & Calendula Lip Balm (Chamomile & Calendula)

Formula:  Good

Wear Time:  Good

Amount of Product:  4.8g / 5.5ml

Price:  €3,45 for a double pack Germany, $6.89 USD, $2.28 – $2.87  CA

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Availability:  This is a fairly new product and I have only spotted it in DM Drogeries in the double pack so far, which is where I picked mine up.  However, I am sure that it is just a matter of time until I start seeing it in a single pack and at other stores that stock Labello products.  Apparently there is now a seller on Amazon.com that stocks this particular Labello lip balm for $6.89, which you can find here.  The Nivea Canada site also shows this product, so I’m guessing it’s already available there or will be quite soon.

I also wanted to mention, for those of you who do not have access to (don’t want to pay nearly $7) or who may not have ever even heard of Labello, that the Nivea lip products are in fact the same.  Both companies are owned by Beiersdorf and share the same formula  as well as packaging.  So rest assured that this particular formula may very well immigrate to the United States with the Nivea seal on it as well.

What I liked:  I really liked that this is formulated for sensitive irritated lips and contains no preservatives.  Not only do I find it soothing but it’s moisturizing without being too heavy, greasy or sticky as well.  It smells wonderful and has such a light, refreshing, and subtle fragrance.  I honestly can’t imagine anyone being put off by the scent.  You get a good amount of product compared to brands like Chap-Stick as the Labello bullet is a bit larger.  I also have become fond of Labello packaging which is sweet and simple.

What I didn’t like:  I honestly have no complaints.

My two cents:  I feel as though you can’t go wrong with this one.  Not only does it contain chamomile and calendula, but also natural jojoba oil and organic shea butter.  This is a great drugstore product, and you can’t beat the price for such a good quality product.  Although my Nuxe Reve de Miel Ultra Nourishing lip balm is my holy grail lip balm, as I mentioned here, I still like to have another lighter more travel friendly stick option to keep in my bag for use during the day.

Tips:  Be sure to snag one of these for yourself and a friend.

Holy Grail Lip Balm: Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Rating System:  Poor, Okay, Average, Good, Excellent

Brand:  Nuxe Paris

Product Name:  Reve de Miel Ultra Nourishing Lip Blam

Formula:  Excellent

Wear Time:  Excellent

Scented:  Yes

Flavored:  No

Amount of Product:  15 g / 0.52 oz

Price:  €12,35 DE, £7.63 – £19.00 UK, $15.00 – $24.39  USD,  $17 CA

Availability:  I ordered mine from Feel Unique, which has free worldwide shipping by the way.  I also saw this as well the rest of the Nuxe Paris line in cosmetic stores and pharmacies while in Munich.  So if you’re in Germany you could potentially find it at select pharmacies.  In the United States you can find Nuxe products  at Amazon.comBirchbox, Dermstore, and Sears .  In Canada you can find Nuxe products at The Bay and The Shopping Channel.  In the UK you can find Nuxe at Amazon.co.uk and Cosmetics Now.  The following links are to official Nuxe Paris sites where you can find out more about this and other products including where to purchase them; Nuxe GermanyNuxe AmericasNuxe France & Nuxe UK.

What I liked:  Quite honestly, there isn’t one single thing I disliked about this.  I adore the citrus scent for one.  It contains ingredients like shea butter, plant oils, honey and grapefruit essence. It is super hydrating and will not only repair dry damaged lips but leave them feeling incredibly soft and nourished.  A little goes a long way and this stuff stays put.  I apply it before bed and it is still on in the morning.  I even like the packaging.  It’s understated and it comes in a thick, sturdy, little frosted glass jar.

What I didn’t like:  Let’s be honest, we’re all friends here after all, this is not a cheap bargain product in any sense of the word.  The hefty price tag leaves a bit to be desired and will no doubt turn some people off unfortunately.

My two cents:  I would gladly pay the ridiculous amount of money to repurchase this over and over, which I fully intend to do.  In fact, it is now officially, my hands down, all time favorite, holy grail lip balm.  Mind you I have tried a ton of them as I have what some might call a lip balm addiction/hoarding problem.  I like to say I’m just an enthusiast and avid collector.  Anyhow, I just can’t say enough wonderful things about the Reve de Miel lip balm.  Each time I twist the lid off my cute little jar and I get a whiff of the super citrus infused goodness, I just can’t help but wish that everything smelled this amazing.  I would recommend that everyone give this a try because I just can’t imagine anyone not liking it.

Tips:  Aside from just sucking it up, parting with a good chunk of your change and purchasing this, I would say to apply it before you go to bed each night.  In my opinion, this is when you will receive the maximum benefits from it’s magical lip soothing & moisturizing super powers.

I’m currently in Hamburg visiting friends for the weekend so my next post won’t appear until Tuesday or Wednesday unfortunately.  However, you can count on reading a little something about our trip.  I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend.  As always, thanks for reading and check back soon.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm:  I finally ordered this and I don’t want to give too much away since I will be posting a full review soon, but let’s just say I think this might be “The One.”  It’s so worth the price tag.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural:  I know I’m not the first and I will not be the last to fall in love with this.  It is simply just a great powder.  It provides good coverage without feeling too heavy or appearing chalky.  It can be worn alone or as a finishing powder. (In case you were curious I have this in Light Plus.)

China Glaze Deviantly Daring:  My mom sent me this recently and I can’t say enough about how great it is.  I love the color and the formula was seriously impressive.  Usually I find duo-chromes can be a little tricky to work since they can show major brush strokes.  However, that was not the case with this at all.

Models Own Dancing Queen:  I got the entire Mirrorball collection that this is from and not only was this the first one I used but it is also one of my first Models Own polish as well.  All I can say is wowie!  These are absolutely gorgeous and just fun.  If you are a glitter fan than be sure to pick this up along with the rest of the collection.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Precious:  Another goodie from mom and quite possibly my favorite of the Kissable Balm Stains that I have so far.  It’s the most subtle of all the colors available but I find it gives a nice complementary flush of color.

Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes Shampoo:  When I ran out of my Tigi Dumb Blonde shampoo I thought I would give this a try.  It’s intended for actual blondes but my hair is bleached and since I slather purple over it I thought that perhaps this would help extend my color, which it has.  For those of you with color treated tresses, whether it’s full on blonde, highlights or ombré then this is a must to combat the brassiness that most of us inevitably plagued by.  Just use this one to two times a week or as needed and be sure not to leave it on your hair too long.  Zoella mentioned this in her August favorites and you can see that video by clicking here.  I will of course do a thorough review on this as well.

A England Saint George:  If you saw the review I posted on Saint George earlier this week then you already know why I have included this.  For those of you who haven’t read the review, just look at the swatches and you’ll see why.  I adore A England.

Converse All-Star Black Monochrome High Top Chuck Taylors:  A friend of mine brought these back from the States for me ages ago, but I’ve not been able to wear them until very recently thanks to my foot problems that flared up again earlier in the year.  Well I’m glad to say the feet have improved ten fold from where they were even three months ago.  So I can finally get back in my Chucks (I have a small collection).  I am loving the black monochrome and I wear them with pretty well everything.  I will even be wearing these with my crazy Halloween costume.

War Brides by Helen Bryan:  I started reading this and the first night I could not put it down.  In fact I ended up staying up much later than I would like to admit.  I’m just over half way through at the moment but I can definitely say it is really good.  I’ve already recommended it to quite a few people.  I think I might just have to do a full review on this one.  If you’re interested in reading a great work of fiction that focuses of the lives of some rather interesting and endearing women as they navigate their way through the daily struggles of life during WWII, then be sure to give this a read.  You can read a synopsis and reviews here.

Pixlr-o-matic for Android:  I’ve been using this for a few months now and I really like being able to add different filters, effects, and borders to my pictures.  I think it’s super easy to use, has tons of options and best of all it’s free through Google Play.

Twitter:  I’ve had my account for a while but just really started utilizing it in the past month and a half or so.  Now I’m addicted.  Last week I was telling Captain Canada that I think I’m starting to find Twitter more interesting than Facebook.  Don’t get me wrong I still love Facebook and it has it’s place, but Twitter just offers a somewhat different type of interaction as far as I’m concerned.  I especially recommend you sign up if you’re a fellow blogger as it is a great way to network and to keep track of and updated on all the companies we all love for instance.

Giveaway Alert!  One of my lovely fellow bloggers are hosting a giveaway on her site that ends tomorrow.  So head on over to Product Hoochie and enter right away!  Unless of course you have an aversion to wonderful cosmetics, then by all means skip it.  As always, thanks for reading and check back soon.

Labello Repair & Beauty Lip Balm

I picked this up last week while in my local drugstore after hearing about it via the Labello FaceBook site throughout the month of June.  I was looking forward to giving this a try as it was advertised as being a product that would provide the best of both worlds with it’s “Innovative 2 in 1 technology,” as it will help repair dry lips as well as provide a subtle flush of color and shine. When I opened the tube I have to admit I thought it was kind neat how it had two layers.  The outer pink layer contains the shine and subtle hint of rose color and the white center core contains the moisturizing repair formula.

What I Liked:  Out of all of the Labello products I have tried, this has the most subtle and natural color.  I appreciate this on those days where I just want a slight wash of color giving my lips a nice natural glow.  This product is also super moisturizing.

What I didn’t like:  This felt a bit heavy on the lips first of all, but perhaps some people don’t mind that.  It does however prevent me from reaching for it unless my lips are incredibly parched.  The fragrance of this lip balm is also not so nice.  It smells rather strongly, in my opinion, of baby powdery perfume.  While I tend to like the scent of baby powder in general, I do not want it on my lips and this really put me off.

I appreciate what Labello was trying to achieve with this product and I will potentially use it on those days where my lips are intensely dry and chapped since I have it.  However, I would not repurchase this one unless they lightened the formula a bit or at the very least did something about the strong off putting fragrance.  If you don’t think you’d mind the fragrance and are looking for a product packed with moisturizing capabilities that also provides a nice hint of color then this would certainly be right up your alley.  By the way, I paid less than €2 for this at my local DM.  Let me know if you’ve given this a try and if you liked it or not.  As always, thanks for reading and check back soon.
