Availability:  I ordered my palette from Beautylish since they had a nice little deal where they would throw in the coveted @#$%! if you purchased the Heart Breaker palette.  (I believe you can still take advantage of this special but only while supplies last.)  You can order directly from Sugarpill Cosmetics, who just happen to ship internationally.  If you live in the UK you can also find this palette as well as other Sugarpill products at Love Make Up. While Sugarpill palettes are normally £24.99 on Love Make Up, the Heart Breaker palette is currently on for £21.00.

What you get:  Acidberry – matte lime green with a slight pearl sheen.  Velocity – vibrant matte royal blue.  2 AM – matte purple with a slight pearl sheen.  Mochi – matte mint sea foam with a slight pearl sheen.

What I liked:  These shadows are so incredibly pigmented, soft and buttery in texture.  They produce very little fall out and these are one of the few eyeshadows I’ve used that have not irritated my sensitive eyes, even when used as a liner.  Each individual eyeshadow pan is monstrous in size so you’re getting some major bang for your buck as far as size and quality are concerned.  The packaging is ridiculously adorable and I love that they included a mirror that is both large enough and has enough magnification to actually make it useful.

What I didn’t like:  The only legit gripe I have is that the palettes are no longer magnetic.  In the past they were, but last June they revamped them and decided to glue them into place.  With that said though, I’m sure there was some reasoning behind the decision.

My two cents:  Let’s just say it was love at first swipe!  I had been swooning over and coveting Sugarpill shadows for ages and I am so glad that I finally took the plunge.  This palette along with the other two individual pressed shadows that I own have been nothing short of awesome.  The first two weeks I had these, I wore them exclusively.  My husband even thought they looked great and each time I bust out my Heartbreaker palette he comments on them.  Good thing I married  guy that has not only embraces but quite likes my Rainbow Brite tendencies.

Keep in mind that Sugarpill pressed eyeshadows are also available individually.  So if you’re not digging all the colors in this palette or just find palettes bulky and cumbersome there is no need to fret.

I will definitely be adding more Sugarpill to my collection.  In fact I plan to pick up the Burning Heart and Sweetheart palettes as well which are the only other two palettes available at this time.  I have read that there are some new products in the works though so I will be anxiously awaiting their release.

I could not help but mention that I have a bit of a girl crush on the company founder Amy Doan a.k.a. Shrinkle.  She saw a gap in the market and decided to pull up her boot straps, get stuck in and do something about it, all the while striving to provide her customers with a superb high quality product.  She also has the most amazing hair I have ever laid my eyes on.  If you’d like to learn more about Amy and the story behind Sugarpill then check out her interview on Beautylish.

Tips:  Prep your lids with a good quality eyeshadow base or primer to help maximize color vibrancy and wear time.

I apologize if you’re disappointed by the fact that I did not include swatches, but I did make an attempt and I just didn’t feel that I did the product justice, and felt as though it would be unfair to include them.  However, if you would like to see some great swatches that do in fact do the Heart Breaker palette justice then head over to Temptalia or Scrangie and read their thoughts as well.  As always, thanks for reading and check back soon.

Exciting Sugarpill News

First of all Sugarpill have decided to make their limited edition pressed eyeshadow in “@#$%!” available for purchase on their site for the very first time.  This shade was previously only made available at IMATS and through a special promo on Beautylish, in other words, not so easy to get your hands on.  So if you have been coveting “@#$%!” then be sure to get on as soon as possible because this sucker will only be available for a very short time beginning today, October 19th to October 21st, 2012.

On a side note, I checked and Beautylish appears to still have Sugarpill products for sale including the promo I mentioned above where you receive “@#$%!” free with the purchase of the Heart Breaker palette.  Keep in mind that there is a one per customer limit and only while supplies last.  Also, if you would like to order the Sweet Heat palette, which is temporarily out of stock on the Sugarpill site, Beautylish still has some in stock as well.  I will include a direct link down below, and while you’re there you should give their interview with Sugarpill creator Amy Doan, aka “Shrinkle” a read.

Beautylish Sugarpill Storefront

Now, onto other excited Sugarpill news!  Like myself, perhaps some of you have already heard rumblings of a new Sugarpill palette and have even been teased by some pictures of Shrinkle wearing the shadows via Twitter.  Well it seems that the cat is entirely out of the bag now, rather than peeking it’s mysterious little triangular eared head out as before.  In an e-mail I received this morning it says that the new “Cold Chemistry Collection” is in production and coming soon.

In case you haven’t heard already the Cold Chemistry Collection is a collaboration that Sugarpill and “A is for Arsenic” fashion designer & makeup artist extraordinare , Amelia Arsenic teamed up for.  This collection is a little different from what we have previously seen from Sugarpill in the sense that it’s a bit on the darker side, although no less vibrant.  For instance, the photos that I’ve seen of the Cold Chemistry palette specifically include four all new pressed eye shadow shades.  There is a black, white, purple and  a teal green.  If you’d like to see swatches of these new shadows that made an appearance at IMATS along with the upcoming “Sparkle Baby Palette” and swatches, then head over to Portrait of Mai who was kind enough to share some photos.

I for one am looking forward to receiving my very first Sugarpill order which includes the Heart Breaker palette @#$%!, and Bulletproof which is due to arrive soon.  Yep, I took advantage of the awesome deal from Beautylish.  I have a sneaking suspicion that I will be falling madly, deeply in love with Sugarpill.  So keep an eye out for a little something on that in the coming weeks. As always, thanks for reading, check back soon and have a wonderful weekend.
