Availability:  I had a really difficult time trying to find it here in Germany and never did come across it here to be honest.  However, Captain Canada’s cousin was kind enough to track it down for me in Toronto. So big thanks to cousin Meredith for tracking it down and sending it my way.

Please be aware that Malice is limited edition, so once it’s gone, it’s gone.  I have checked and you can still order it directly from Channel at the moment.  You might also have some luck in your local retailers, but I feel that’s doubtful, and then there is always Ebay.

My Two Cents:   I wanted to begin by saying that I am sorry for not being able to provide you with certain information with regards to animal testing, whether Chanel is vegan friendly or cruelty free, but I honestly could not find legitimate concrete information attesting to any of these matters.  So please use your best judgement where this is concerned and if by chance you know something I don’t, let me know by commenting down below.

Aside from the obvious, being the price, there wasn’t anything I could find fault with.  Malice is a deep, rich, gorgeous, vampy shade of red.  It is shimmery, but not overtly so, and I feel as though it would compliment just about any skin tone.  Malice stayed on me for ages before only the smallest chips began to appear at the outer edges of my nails which is where I typically experience wear.  I was truly bummed when it came time to remove it and nearly put it right back on, but alas, there are other bottles awaiting my attention and review.  When it came to removal I was pleasantly surprised by how easily it was to remove and I did not experience any staining at all.

I know it’s crazy expensive for a nail polish, but for me, it was truly worth each and every penny.  Malice is officially my very favorite red and I will be wearing it over and over again until my bottle goes dry or something more exciting comes my way.  You may say I’m fickle, but I just say that all is fair in love of nail polish!

Tips:  Use a good base coat and top coat.

Something Similar:  Tom Ford – Burnished Rouge, Deborah Lippmann – Through the Fire, Deborah Lippmann – Bitches Brew, OPI – Glove You So Much, OPI – Germanicure, OPI – Royal Rajah Ruby, Sinful Colors – Rich In Heart, and China Glaze – Heart of Africa.

As always, thanks for reading and check back soon.

Where has Girl In The Glasses been?

First of all I am sorry for not posting more often in the last two months.  Life has taken over for one and winter here in Germany is horrible.  Okay, we get very little snow where I live and it’s not as cold as it was living Canada or growing up in the Mitten.  However I would prefer that to wet, gray, gloominess that we tend to experience.  It’s a bit like being stuck in the doldrums but with a whole lot of drizzly cold rain and absolutely no sun.  Seriously, your best chance of seeing the sun is when you get a brief glimpse of it through cracks in the cloud cover or if you jet off to some less depression inducing locale.  So I’m sure that you can imagine it’s not very nice at all and believe me, I am always taken aback by how much if affects our mood.  I swear, even the Incredibly Bullie Duo seem to be plagued by the winter blues.

Back in December, I was very lucky to have been given an early Christmas gift by Captain Canada, which came in the form of a new Canon IXUS 125 HS camera.  While it was incredibly easy to learn the basics and get started,  I have had some issues when it comes to edited my photos and adding my watermark and captions with the program I have always used for such things.  My guess would be that the new photographs are just too much for it handle and I am in severe need of an upgrade.  After struggling and being frustrated I finally got my tech guy on it and downloaded a program called GIMP.  I’ve been giving it a good old college try but I’ve had issues with it as well.  The program keeps having error’s, shutting down suddenly and I end up losing the work I have done.  Needless to say, this has been incredibly frustrating, not to mention that it has been the biggest factor in my absence.  Each time it comes to editing pictures I am overcome with a sense of dread and don’t even want to bother as I know that if it works at all that it will take ages, which quite frankly I don’t have the time to devote to a task that should only take minutes.  Also, I just feel a product review just isn’t as effective or interesting without a photo to accompany it.

I apologize if I sound a bit whiney or as though my blog isn’t important to me since that is most definitely not the case.  It’s just that at the end of the day this isn’t my full-time job, it’s a hobby that I have always enjoyed and I would simply like it to continue to be enjoyable.  Rest assured, I am working on the technical issues as well as some new reviews.  So hopefully I will back to posting, at least on a semi-regular basis, very soon.  For now though, enjoy some cute bullie photo ops with Gemma and Shocker since I firmly believe that any day can be made brighter by a bulldog…or two.

Essie: Beyond Cozy

I am glad to say that I am back in business, so to speak, for the new year.  The Incredibly Bullie Duo, Captain Canada and I had a lovely Christmas and New Year’s Eve and I hope that you enjoyed the holidays as well.  Here’s to a fun filled year and getting back into the swing of things!  Now onto the nail polish…

Availability:  I purchased mine at my local DM after stalking it for over a month, and they still had a few colors from the collection left last week, although Beyond Cozy was not among them.  However, they did have the mini trio set still available which includes this color.

United States:  Amazon.com, Walgreens, Wal-Mart & CVS stores.

Canada:  Nail Polish Canada

Germany:  DM, Amazon.de and I had also heard Douglas stores had them as well.

United Kingdom:  Amazon.co.uk

My Two Cents:  Beyond Cozy is beyond ah-mazing!  Not only is it beautiful, goes on like a dream, but it has been exceptional in the wear department.  For a silver polish, it definitely has a that little something different thanks to the hint of warm champagne in it. but it has this It’s a great holiday color, but in all honesty I will have no problem wearing it year round when the mood strikes me.  I also think it would make a good base for some jelly sandwich experimentation or as an accent color.  If you’ve not already picked this up, then I highly recommend doing so if you can track a bottle down as it will not disappoint.

Tips:  Start with a base coat, and be generous with the top coat, especially if you don’t like the rough feel that top coat thirsty glitters can have.

Something Similar:  In all honesty, there are a whole whack of silver micro-glitters on the market, but I just don’t feel that any others have the same warm tone to them that Beyond Cozy does.  However, if you beg to differ please feel free to let me know by commenting down below.

As always, thanks for reading and check back soon.

Girl In The Glasses 2012 review

Like all my fellow WordPress bloggers, I received my annual report for 2012 and I thought I would share a little summary of it with my readers.  Not only have I enjoyed blogging in 2012, but I’ve been lucky to have connected with some pretty amazing, friendly, kind and supportive people.  I would like to thank every person that liked my Facebook page, subscribed to, commented, linked to, stopped by or stumbled upon my little blog this past year as I am truly appreciative.  Happy New Year and may 2013 be filled with health, happiness and wonderful things for each and every one of you!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 7,700 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 13 years to get that many views.
