I have been hearing about the Tangle Teezer for close to a year now and it seems that everyone who owns one loves it. So I decided to give it a try. The Tangle Teezer is a unique hair brush designed by a hair stylist with over thirty years of experience. It is safe for use on wet or dry hair and it will gently detangle without causing any damage to your hair.
Price: $10.98-$12.99 USD, Germany, £9.74-£13.10 UK
Availability: I purchased mine from Amazon.co.uk but you can also find it in the UK at Boots. The Tangle Teezer is available in the States at Amazon.com as well as at Sally Beauty Supply. In Germany you can find it at Amazon.de and DM Drogeries. However, you can go straight to the source and purchase directly from Tangle Teezer who also has global sites or you can order from sites like Beautybay and ASOS which both offer free worldwide shipping.
What I Liked: I liked how it fits perfectly in your hand and is gentle yet incredibly effective. I’ll be honest, I also liked that I it came in a variety of colors including the glittery purple one which I got.
What I didn’t Like: Honestly, there isn’t anything I found that I don’t like about it.
My Two Cents: As many of you may know, I don’t exactly have long flowing locks of hair, but my hair has been bleached to within an inch of its life so it’s of course damaged and a bit dry. So I thought the Tangle Teezer would be a safe gentle way to brush my hair and remove the knots that I seem to get near the ends. This sucker did just that and it did so very gently. I also noticed that it did not cause any static which a lot of brushes inevitably do to my hair.
I would recommend this to anyone who has hair, short, long, straight, coarse or silky smooth. I especially think this would be terrific for those of you who have children since it won’t pull and tug at their sensitive scalps and in turn hopefully making them a little more cooperative and agreeable to having their hair brushed. Maybe you’re going to think I’m a little crazy, but I would also suggest using this on pets with longer hair. One of my cousins has an adorable little precocious Bichon & Silky Terrier mix and I know she has had many a battle with him trying to get the knots out of his hair. So this would perhaps be a great alternative to normal dog brushes for dogs that have hair rather than fur as well.
Tips: Just order one, open the box and get brushing.
Other Options: There are a few different models of the Tangle Teezer which you can see on their site. So be sure to check it out in order to find the one that best suits your needs.
I’m so glad I ordered one of these. In fact I wish they would have had these when I was a little girl because back then my incredibly thick hair was very long. I know my mom certainly would have appreciated it’s detangling super powers especially when we would sit on the porch in the summer after my bath while she spritzed my hair with Johnson’s No More Tears Detangling Spray and lovingly combed through my long hair removing the numerous tangles and knots. As always, thanks for reading and check back soon.
