A Little Help If You Will…

We could all use a little helping hand…or paw now and then. Aslo, who could resist these two?

Okay ladies and gents (hey there might be a few gents reading), I need some of your sage advice. First of all I’m in serious need of some new comfy footwear to wear around the house. I have foot problems a plenty (major flat foot and arthritis) so comfort is of the utmost importance. For years I’ve been tearing through pair after pair of Espirit slippers and quite frankly, they just don’t hold up. I was thinking maybe a pair of Mini Bailey Button Uggs.

Secondly I am looking to find some new skin care products. I have been cursed with adult acne as well as combination, oily, dry and somewhat sensitive skin. For the past two years I have used La Roche Posay Effaclar products religiously. While I did notice some improvement initially, lately I just feel as though it’s doing nothing for me. I have also used Vichy Normaderm in the past and it was the same story but the benefits were even shorter lived. I considered trying LUSH products since a friend with similar skin care needs had good luck with them, but the nearest store is an hour away. I have also heard great things about Caudelie products but those are even more pricey that the La Roche products, although I wouldn’t object to giving them a go. Another thing I am considering to help with my skin care is investing in a Clarisonic Mia.

Last but not least, I would like to invest in a good face powder (I’m currently using a cheap Maybelline one). I’m not necessarily looking for something that provides full coverage, nor do I want anything that is super heavy. I have heard great things about the Laura Geller Balance & Brighten Powder as well as the M.A.C. Mineralize Skinfinish Natural. By the way, I have also found myself coveting the M.A.C. Mineralize Skinfinish as well in either Soft and Gentle or Light Year, which I’m leaning more towards.

I would really appreciate your suggestions, thoughts and opinions on these matters as well as any of the products I’ve mentioned above. I figure since I received such great help when I was searching for the perfect red lipstick, and I only posted that cry for help on my personal Facebook page, that I could only have equally as good, if not better luck by appealing to an even wider audience. So yeah, please comment below. As always, thanks for reading and check back soon.

P.S. I have another date with the M.A.C. counter this Friday but this time in Munich!

Lindz … I love your plea for help! A few recommendations, although I am in the US so am not sure if what I recommend is available to you in Germany.

FIRST, at home footwear … you MUST get a pair of Fit Flop slippers – in particular the FitFlop Lounge Deluxe. They are VERY well made (I used to go through 2 pair of slippers/year, and I’ve had these for 18 months and still going strong), and AMAZINGLY comfortable. I could stand on my feet all day in these things if I could.

SECOND, skincare. If you have access to Paula’s Choice via the internet, you should check it out. It’s a very low-key, but very high quality skin care line, and their knowlegable customer service is second-to-none.

THIRD, powder. Check out Laura Mercier. Her makeup is just the best!

Good luck and let us know how your search progresses!
